Principal - Michael I. Brooks

Michael I. Brooks is the founder and principal of the Law Office of Michael I. Brooks, Apc. He has successfully handled numerous cases in Federal and State courts and has represented clients in hundreds of arbitrations and trials.

Mr. Brooks has been a practicing attorney since 1979. His practice focuses in the areas of employment and family based immigration matters including the handling of removal cases before the immigration courts, such as the Executive Office of Immigration Review, the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Administrative Appeals Unit. In addition, Mr. Brooks represents clients in personal injury law, employment law, civil and business litigation and family law. In these areas, he has tried, arbitrated and mediated innumerable cases before judges and juries.

Mr. Brooks is admitted to practice before the Federal District Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the United States Supreme Court, and the Executive Office of Immigration Review. He is a thirty-two year member of the California State Bar.

Mr. Brooks was born and educated in London, England. He received his law degree from the University of London in 1977. In the same year he immigrated to the United States. As an immigrant himself, Mr. Brooks is aware of the hopes and dreams that go along with the filing of a petition for immigration benefits. He understands well that each client aspires to be a part of the “American Dream”. He is proud of the trust that his clients have given him over the past twenty-six years of practice, allowing him to represent and guide them through the sometimes difficult and complicated immigration process.

Director, Research & Strategy - Judy Guo

Ms. Guo graduated from Renmin University of China, Purdue University and University of Southern California. With academic foundations in literature (BA), education (MA), and law (Juris Doctor degree), she brings a rich and diverse perspective to her assistance to clients from various majors. She has extensive experience in the legal industry with a concentration on immigration and employment law. Utilizing her over ten years’ experience, she has helped hundreds of clients smoothly getting their green cards through PERM, EB1A, EB1B, EB1C, NIW and family-based applications. Ms. Guo also has an in-depth understanding of work visa applications, including but are not limited to H-1B, O-1, TN, L1A, L1B, etc.

At the heart of Ms. Guo's practice lies her commitment to understanding each client's unique circumstances and backgrounds in both academia and industry. Ms. Guo's own journey has led to a deeper understanding across various disciplines, including the humanities and social sciences, as well as fields like engineering, biology, medicine, physics, math, among others. Working alongside a skilled team of paralegals and technical writers, she excels in uncovering each client's potential, focusing meticulously on details to devise the most effective strategies. She understands that each step would be a life-changing moment for an individual and their family, and her team is here to assist.
